Grant's class had an awards ceremony on the last day of school. He received a few awards for math contests, an award for a group competition, and then a certificate of achievement for all the programs and groups he was in this school year. I believe he received 5 awards/certificates that day. Here he is receiving one of them.

Grant had a great year, and a lot of it was in part to his teacher, Mrs. Shannon. She retired after the school year, and he almost left the EL program because of it. That is how much he loved her. Even though he will be in a different class next year, whoever takes her place will be his teacher for some subjects. He was scared of who would take her place next year. She was very glad that he decided to stay in the program, and so was Mrs. Poynter (his 5th grade teacher)... and so was his mom. Great job on all your accomplishments, Grant!

Grant will be glad he stayed in EL, too! Mrs. Poynter is a phenomenal teacher. He will have a great 5th grade year. It is sad to see Mrs. Shannon go. She is so great, too.
Great job, Grant!
